PBS Asian Americans Film and Lessons

Asian Americans is a five-hour film series that delivers a bold, fresh perspective on a history that matters today, more than ever. As America becomes more diverse, and more divided while facing unimaginable challenges, how do we move forward together? Told through intimate personal stories, the series will cast a new lens on U.S. history and the ongoing role that Asian Americans have played. It can be streamed for free on PBS Learning Media. In addition to the full film, there are several short films (or mini-documentaries that are less than 10 minutes long.

  • The Asian American Education Project has created free lessons to support teaching the film.
  • Additional resources to support teaching the history and ideas explored in the film can be accessed on the website of the Immigrant History Initiative.
